VMEbus64X
The VMEbus64X specification is the latest in a long line of enhancements
to the original, and highly successful, VMEbus specification which dates
back to the early 1980's.
Multiplexing of the Address and Data lines expands the original 32-bit
bus to give a significant increase in the data bandwidth available. Support
for 3.3V logic, Geographical addressing and support for hot-swapping of
cards provides a robust specification for a wide variety of applications.
The 5-row, 160-pin, connectors used permit the additional signal functions
and improve the power distribution deficiencies of the earlier specification.
Coupled with the optional 95-pin P0 connector, a significant increase
in I\O signal pins are available through the backplane.
Integrated Backplanes Solutions Limited provide a broad range of product
in 3U, 6U and enhanced 7U form factors in slot widths from three to twenty
one.
"Modified Standard" products are extremely popular, utilising
the additional I\O pins to provide a custom interconnect for specific
applications.
